batuque (as used by fernandez)...what is the correct pronunciation?

I'm not sure at all..BA THU KWE....????Any Brazilians out there?

Has anybody ever heard the complete ballet/suite? Is there a recording - mossibly from Brazilian radio?

thanx.  i was going with something similar (bah too kwa).  i've not found any recordings of the suite.
the bernstein was the batuque i heard first (i have the old lp), and keri-lynn wilson with the simon bolivar orchestra is my cd.

Stress on the second syllable.

Batuque is part of the ballet REISADO DO PASTOREIO, composed by Brazilian composer (of Spanish descent) LORENZO FERNÁNDEZ.

I only know a Sony recording with Bernstein conducting the BATUQUE. There's a DVD here in Brazil with a local orchestra, but I didn't see it.

merci, Botafogo!  from now on i'll try to remember 'keh'.
i have the cd i previously mentioned and that bernstein lp.
a recording of toscanini/nbc is also available.
