I'm not sure at all..BA THU KWE....????Any Brazilians out there?

Has anybody ever heard the complete ballet/suite? Is there a recording - mossibly from Brazilian radio?

Peter

david johnson:
thanx.  i was going with something similar (bah too kwa).  i've not found any recordings of the suite.
the bernstein was the batuque i heard first (i have the old lp), and keri-lynn wilson with the simon bolivar orchestra is my cd.

Botafogo:
BAH - TOO - KEH

Stress on the second syllable.

Batuque is part of the ballet REISADO DO PASTOREIO, composed by Brazilian composer (of Spanish descent) LORENZO FERNÁNDEZ.

I only know a Sony recording with Bernstein conducting the BATUQUE. There's a DVD here in Brazil with a local orchestra, but I didn't see it.

Kindest regards.

david johnson:
merci, Botafogo!  from now on i'll try to remember 'keh'.
i have the cd i previously mentioned and that bernstein lp.
a recording of toscanini/nbc is also available.
