Recording Engineer John Eargle Dies at 76

One of the greatest of American recording engineers, John Eargle, has died at the age of 76. He was responsible for many of the marvelous Delos recordings over the years, having shepherded the Gerard Schwarz/Seattle Symphony recordings into the world. He was both a trained musician -- a master's from Eastman -- and an electrical engineer -- a master's from University of Oklahoma. And a thoroughly delightful fellow, too.

He will be mourned by many in the classical music world.

Yes, especially as the founder of Delos also died recently.
