I think I may have a new Bach favorite. Olafsson is phenomenal on that album. I'm in heaven. He performs a wonderful album of Phillip Glass works if that is more of interest as a starting point.

Yep, he's got the magic touch.

He has also recorded Bach Partitas 2 and 5, in an album dating from 2011 that also includes the Chopin Preludes.  But yes, the new Bach mix is superb, as is the Glass (he can be found performing the Glass tracks live on YouTube, check out Etude No.6).

I have you to thank for introducing him to me!! :)

I've ordered the Bach, but since I used Prime, I got it right away digitally. I've not had time to listen to more than a few tracks. But each one was superb! The speed of some of the pieces, while maintaining the technique is really quite something. I would love to hear him eventually perform some Godowsky. Though frankly, I think I'll buy whatever he decides to perform.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!
