Does anyone have the (ca 2007) Warner Erato box with music by Ohana?
I'm only interested in (the 6) "Cantigas" ! Burn a copy of those Cantigas, or get them at Tune Tribe....( for ca 5 Pounds). I wasn't able to download in Belgium because of some legal restriction...!?
CD, book or money in return..Belgian chocolate, new socks? ...you name it!

PM me .thanks, Peter

Maciek

Peter, not sure if this will make your day but the box is on sale at Presto:

I was actually thinking about it for a while a couple of days ago but finally decided to pass.

It's even cheaper at mdt at the moment:

Don't think I've ever heard Ohana's music, what's it like?

MDT charges shipping per-disc. Presto charges per-set. So for me (EU Zone 2) Presto would be cheaper. 0:)

(MDT: 10 + 1.5 + 3 = 14.5
Presto: 11.61 + 2 = 13.61)

But MDT is indeed cheaper for Zone 1 (10 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 13). I guess that means you, Peter. ;D

europadisc.co.uk is cheaper on p&p than mdt as well, though mdt usually have a wider range and better offers.

BTW I have the Ohana set, have listened to two discs, but haven't formed any opinion yet. Sound is very good, and Ohana sure makes some interesting noises. The only thing I can currently say, is that it seems to be worth the effort.

Thanks for all the information.
For me, Cantigas stands out ( + the Llanto). It's an early work and is influenced by STravinsky. But it speaks a very original language of its own.
The old performance by Marcel Couraud ( Isabel Garcisanz soprano) is outstanding - better than the more recent one by Haybaderian.
