Really? Hmmm. I guess I'm just not making my presence felt on this forum, am I? Xenakis' Orient Occident has been a favorite of mine since ever so long ago. 1973 or 4. So if it were Orient Occident, I would have gotten it in a flash. (And been very pleased to see that someone else knew that lovely piece.)

As for Hibiki Hana Ma, there are a few very fleeting things in it that are like things in the earlier work, but I doubt anyone who had listened to them more than once each would mistake one for the other. (Just shows how naive I am, maybe.)

Uh ... now that I have remembered to provide the answers  :-[ , they are 1 - Bortkiewicz (First Symphony), 2 - Kalinnikov (First Symphony), 3 - Joachim Raff (Fourth Symphony).
