TM - welcome aboard the GMG Forum!  :D   Will be nice to get a 'trumpet perspective' & some recommendations - know that I have a number of classical trumpet CDs (and plenty of jazz ones!).

Not sure where you live in LI, but my in-laws have a house in Montauk, so I've been there and the Hamptons plenty of times, but not much in recent years - my brother in law is currently living in the house - he's a retired pyschiatrist (early) and is now in a band and doing some local musical performances (actually he is quite talented musically) - if you're out in that end of LI, you might even know him (last name Becker!).   :)

Thanks SonicMan...

I live in Western Suffolk so Montauk would be about 2 hours to get to...
What group does your brother in law play with?

I play in one group and we perform all over Long Island...

Again, thanks to you and everyone for the warm welcome!

Rest easy, ChN: he's just been looking at a score by an English-speaking composer.

(Well, English- and Russian-speaking, if it come to that.)

OK, but that's it TM.  You've now reached your quota of German-speaking composers.  You cannot mention any others!    >:D   Just kidding!   :)

TM - had to ask his sister (i.e. my wife -  :D) - Dan Becker's Mighty Task Force - here's a WRITE UP - he practiced pyschiatry in Mobile, AL for a long while and got into the blues - has a fabulous collection of guitars (some rather historic, such as old Gibson & Nationals); I've not heard them, but sounds like mainly blues type music -  :)

SonicMan,
That is very impressive.
I'll have to keep an eye out and see if I can get out to one of their performances!
Thanks,

David,
Looks like you have an nice arsenal!    8)
I have a Selmer A/Bb and Scherzer A/Bb pic's (this is rotary valve and has a beautiful sound).
The Selmer is for Orchestral use... and the Scherzer is for Chamber/Solo music.

Never played a Calicchio.... but I have heard alot of good things about them.

Regards,
TM
