Tickled to learn that today was organized as a log off from Facebook protest. And yes, I've logged off from all devices.

And, I learn that the request is to stay logged off for three days. I'm all in.

I can do 3 days w/o FB standing on my head. I have no love for it generally, although some of the private groups I belong to are indispensable. Makes it tough to just leave. :-\

It would be tough to pull the plug completely, true.

Just as an example, there are probably fewer than 100 people in the country who braid rawhide and leather like I do. And at least half of them are in the Rawhide & Leather Braiding group on FB. That's a resource that can't be replaced. :(

While this certainly qualifies as one of the least toxic aspects of Facebook, I point out that that is a mild annoyance:

Hi, [name of group admin]. I am puzzled. I proposed a post which was simply a line from "The Air" thus: "we can crash in my Nash." I got a message that the post was denied (presumably because it violates group rules). I should very much like to know what rule that post violates and how. Thanks for your understanding and help.

Haha.

As far as the thread title goes - I did, but I don't now, and far prefer the latter status.

Yes - it's just so handy for putting photos up.

Autolycus

It's great for sharing family photos and adding comments. It allows the family to share its history.

I don't use FB, Insta, Twitter, Snapchat... none of it!

It has its place. As does IG, Twitter, etc. To each, their own 🙂

I deleted Facebook several years ago. I use Instagram to follow some of my interests and musicians, I have my phone set to disable all its permissions. Twitter is useful to follow academic physicians post news and rare/interesting cases, in the old days we'd only see these in journals. If anyone has an interest in that kind of thing, but catered towards lay people I suggest the Netflix series Diagnosis.

(poco) Sforzando

Yep to FB, but no Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, or Tik-Tok.

I do that with all my apps except phone, messages and the calendar.

Facebook is a great place for sharing jokes, especially cartoons. Every little helps.

FB i getting flakier. In a few days two of my posts have been suppressed as supposedly "violating community standards." The "intelligence" behind the policy and implementation is pretty sketchy.
