Which Annees de pelerinage: Lazar Berman or Jeno Jando?

Which Complete Tone Poems: Kurt Masur / Gewandhaus or Bernard Haitink / London PO?

Thanks in advance.

Gianandrea Noseda and the BBC Phil are outstanding in the Faust Symphony and From the Cradle to the Grave.

Second the Brilliant box, quite satisfying.

Jando's Annees was raved about in the Penguin guide so I got it. I will put it on now and see if I can finally figure out why they raved.

The Dante Sonata: it's tamer and cooler than I prefer. Its not terrible, but not top shelf IMO.

The Berman remains on my to buy list.  :)

Annees: [c] Ciccolini

Complete Tone Poems: [c] All should be binned.

Regarding les Années de Pelerinage, my choice would be Jorge Bolet in the first two years and Kocsis in the third. Bolet is sublime.

A good second choice is Ciccolini.

Regarding the tone poems I remain faithfull to Bernard Haitink, except for the Preludes were Fricsay gave a version never reached.

Grazioso

For Liszt, head immediately to Bolet's classic recordings, including a partial traversal of the Annees.

Happy to see that I am not the only one to love the sublime interpretations of Jorge Bolet.

I"ve got the Jando and it's good. Can I also recommend the Cziffra - if it's still available!
Cheers

If ever there was a mandatory buy it is that box, no weakness or mediocrity, no excessive pyrotechnics either, just a perfect interpreter :)

Edit: In fact, an excellent box for both a beginner AND obsessive Lisztian.
