I am more of coffee man but i would really like to make my way into the world of tea. I do love Earl Grey, Green Tea w/ Chia is great but i would love to be able to get into the "specialty" teas. I am on a restricted budget right now so it might have to wait till i get out of school.

You mean, rooibos and chamomile, blended together?  :o

What are your thoughts on tea? Do you drink it?

Personally I am addicted. My favourite is Lapsang Souchong (with milk  :o)

:o  $:)

Queen Mary - a simple tea, light in texture, full in an easy tea kind of way.  Nice.
Darjeeling - Not for me.
L Souchong - akin to drinking ashes.
Tetley - my daily cuppa.   :o

Darjeeling - Not for me.

I share the sentiment. A tea that I want to like ... but can't.

A pity!  Liking Darjeeling came so naturally to me . . . .

It is sufficient to say that my user name on several websites and p2p programs is Darjeeling.  8)

Nice avator, Corey. There's something with the skull of Sibelius.

I am drinking another green tea lemon this morning, I don't do that usually.

Oh, I think some Irish breakfast tea is called for, this morning.

I've just had my fourth cup of Lapsang. I said that I was an addict. As part of my new health regime it helped remove the taste of the Marmite and tomato on toast, which I had for my lunch  :P

Which brands?

When I can, I order loose tea from Upton Tea Imports.  Lately I haven't felt like spending the money to order from them, so I've been drinking various bagged teas that I can get at local grocery stores.

I've got a cup of hot Earl Grey here at my desk as we speak.

Was shopping today and looked at the Earl Grey, thinking of it as a variant from my usual Irish Breakfast, but all of the Earl Grey had Bergamot added. A Russian lady in a tea shop once warned me, vehemently, to never buy anything with Bergamot.

What do you think?  ???

Lis - bergamot is just a citrus scent added to the Earl Grey tea, likely in very small amounts; I doubt that a cup or so a day (or less frequently) is of any medical importance to worry about - I like EG tea and have no hesitation to enjoy the beverage; interestingly, there is a small 'toxicology' section HERE in a Wiki article on bergamot; since this is a citrus extract, like grapefruit, potential interaction w/ certain drugs, such as anticoagulants (and some others) could be an issue - at the most, I would suggest those on a list of medications check w/ their physicians concerning any potential interactions w/ the drugs that they consume -  :D  Dave

Thank you, Doctor!  :-*

I think I now understand the Russian lady's objection to Bergamot: it's the skin of the fruit being used to extract the oil and, knowing the heavy applications of chemical sprays in so many European countries, Earl Grey with Bergamot addition would certainly not be organic, something the lady insists on using and selling. I see her point.

I just read the fine print on the box I bought and it mentions: "natural oil of bergamot, and the Bergamot on the front of the box is called 'natural bergamot'. I should hope the Italians haven't advanced to growing unnatural Bergamot - petri dish? I'll drink it anyhow and await the results!  :D

Mmmm . . . some nice hot Oolong, this morning!

To add to what Dave said, all Earl Grey tea is flavored with bergamot, that's what makes it Earl Grey tea.  HERE is a short article on Earl Grey tea.

All this talk of Earl Grey tea has put me in the mood for a cup. . . .  *Heads to the kitchen/break room.*

Went to a tea shop here in Vienna today, called Teehaus Artee, and came back with 2 loose leaf green teas:
-- a Japanese one, Sencha Yuzuki
-- and a Chinese one, Tsing Cha first grade

Can't wait to try them

Not really a tea bag drinker (I enjoy loose leaf), but I found this brand of camomile to really settle my stomach.  1 cup each day, usually in the afternoon, does the the trick.
