I had my mom-in-law tapping her toes to the Op.77 quartets just the other day.

Wagner was smitten with Berlioz and now I know why:

  [asin]B00000E37H[/asin]

This opera is mind-blowing! Sweeping romantic music delivered with precise power! Oh I love this. Wagner was right (Berlioz deserves to ranked amongst the best romantic opera composers).

Forget Les Troyens, pick this recording up and play till your speakers burst!

Going with another piece I'm pretty familiar with. Going to try a new symphony tonight I think.

I've nothing to compare it to but I enjoy this recording.
My favourite words in classical: "Molto vivace"

Yes, I'm shallow.

I had actually had the chance to make the acquaintance of all these pieces before . . . really like this recording, fiery, committed performances, Keith. Edward did not steer us wrong here.

Bah, Shostakovich is giving my son a "headache" (read: he's whining because he's tired) so, something more mellow:

Hah!  I'm listening to Bach because Mahler was starting to give me a headache! :D

Well, he's gone up to bed so back on goes Shostakovich! He makes me play the march from the Sugar Plum Fairy before he goes up these nights. He claims to hate all the rest of my music apart from bits of the Goldberg variations and similar. :D
