And your opinion of the performances?

Softer-grained, less powerfully projected than either Abbado or Chailly, but I think superbly atmospheric. I like the Telarc recording; expansive with great percussion. Christine Cairns is less impressive, and not as idiomatic as Arkhipova (Chailly) or the great Obraztsova (Abbado).
