I've always wondered why this nickname when it was actually a "jeune fille" whom the concert was written for...  ;D  :D  ;D

A Mozartian pun? The woman may have been named Wuilliaume or Villieaume and Mozart's accent combined with his sense of humor managed to change her age and gender  :D  At least that's what the liner notes suggest.

It has also been suggested that the name was actually Jenamy. Now this might come from "jeune mamie" and I think this is a much more plausible Mozart pun, provided he spoke colloquial French...  ;D

Within the last 5 years or so it has been definitively documented that what Mozart had written to his father in a letter "...I wrote a concerto for Mlle. Genomy..." is exactly what he intended to write. Mlle. Genomy was the daughter of a French diplomat stationed in Vienna and a very prodigious amateur pianist. How that story got started 200 years ago and perpetuated for all that time is one of the modern mysteries. :)

Your sense of humor has apparently vanished despite your predilection for Haydn...  ???
