For a Sunday ,Haydn "The Creation", by Karajan. For sure he does really well in this Haydn repertoire, and Janowitz is just perfect with her angelic voice. What beauty! Any recommendations for other recordings with Janowitz?

Telemann.

Complete Overtures, Volume II.

In D minor, for 3 oboes, bassoon,, strings, and B.C.
In F major, for 2 horns, strings, and B.C.
In B flat major for, 2 oboes, bassoon, strings, and B.C.
In E flat major, for 2 horns (Ad lib) strings, and B.C.

Collegium Instrumentale Brugense/Patrick Peire.

As you all know, I am a Telemann admirer, so the last few days my diet is predominantly this composer. That has of course to do with the fact that a lot of recordings are on my desk right now.
These Overtures are well played and beautifully recorded, and are a jewel in the crown from Brilliant, and if I look at the releases in the near future, it will give us even more pleasure, like the SQ by Korngold and Malpiero, yes you read right, that's wonderful news right? :)
Every two months or so, Brilliant will release a three box Telemann overtures, and will cover all the music that Telemann wrote.
Bravo I say, in a loud and boisterous voice.

I have to say that is quite enjoyable.  A shame that this is his only set of works that I have on the shelf.  I will have to reread Gurn's thread from the old GMG concerning this composer....which thanks to Dave (Sonic) can be easily found here http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,284.0.html

Hope all is well your way Harry.

Well I do my best to keep things in balance, but that's not always easy.
Thank goodness for classical music, to give comfort.

Ah, Harry, all the time one has had for love, which in hindsight was so sadly misspent . . . .

Ahmed Adnan Saygun.

SQ No. 3 opus 43.
SO no. 4 opus 77. (Fragment)

Quatuor Danel.

SQ No. 3 begins with a Grave, with lots of chaotic movement, and fast changing triplets, a hefty discourse between the instruments, and when the discussion dies down, a beautiful rest, laden with spirituality dawns upon you.
In this line the music wanders through your veins, and gets under you skin in no time. Amazing. :)
But 42:00 minutes on on cd is very short measure from CPO >:(

Fighting with the person you love is needlessly exhausting. However, I have noticed that love is ultimately worth both sticking around and fighting for.

Those whom persevere at all costs recieve their just reward, don't they Harry?

Best Sunday Morning Blesses I wish to all.
