The piano quartets with Samson François and members of the Quator Bernède in the 1st,
and Jean-Philippe Collard and members of the Quator Parrenin in the 2nd.

That set is one of my best-ever purchases.

Now listening: Hartmann symphonies 6, 7 and 8. Kubelik and (in 7) Macal conducting SOBR.

Yes please!

I've only got, and only ever owned the Kujiken set - it's fantastic and hence never really felt the need to search out further recordings, but I am quite an Ansermet fan...

Only 224 bitrate, but it's decent for old sound (my upload is too slow to try for 320, at least to do so and reply in a reasonable amount of time :)). I picked these movements for being particular favourites:

I very much like how "straight" he plays the music, and also the elegance of the performances. I think that these two discs are the only I have which feature him - I should look out for more.

It does have some classical on it, along with some great rare songs and lovely indian music. Very recommended.  8)

Top stuff, cheers for that. I'll have a listen after the game ;)

Don't own masses of Ansermet, but a very underrated conductor IMO. Got a great selection of Tchaikovsky ballet suites that was one of my first ever classical CD's and still very much cherished!

Recordings vary from 1960 to 1982, most are from the late '60s and '70s.
Now indeed, that is already 30 to (over) 40 years ago! And you are absolutely right - it does sound like it. Time flies...  8)

Good evening Tasos!

Very nice performances of the 8th and 9th Symphony by Wand; especially I love the 9th here - one of my favourites. I love the opening of the first movement. The horn playing really brings a sense of mystery.

Been listening to a wonderful new recording of the Miklós Rózsa Violin Concerto, played by Anastasia Khitruk, and the Sinfonia Concertante where she is joined by cellist Andrey Tchekmazov.  It's on Naxos.
