A joke gone wrong.   :-[

Don't worry, I have since long learned how to read you the right way.  ;D

My smiley must have looked strange here, I thought the "telephone" line was about the sound of my muffled piano recording.

[Liszt/Grimwood]

I don't like this recording, I find the instrument really unpleasant, like a bar piano, but also the interpretation I find lacking a line that makes the pieces coherent and meaningful to me. I'm not sure I can stand listening to the whole two CDs.

My wife talking on the phone...

LOL!  ;D

My wife is also talking to me, but fortunately I have headphones on!  ;) :D

Gentlemen, I'm afraid you've all had it wrong. I was indeed listening to my wife talking on the phone --- only not to me.  ;D She was talking to her female cousin as I was typing.  ;D ;D ;D

Isn't that funny, one can drop some line out of context and several people will attach meanings to it and different lines of conversation are starting.  :)

Next time your home catches fire don't even think about me sending you any Rangstrom...  ;D

(sorry, couldn't resist... may your home never again be on fire... Romanian humor can be even drier than Scottish... if I offended you in any way please forgive me...  0:) )

At my wife's behest. Not one of my favorite works; a bit languid and gauzy for my tastes. When I'm in the mood to enjoy it, it puts me to sleep. When I'm not in the mood, it makes me so antsy I'm tempted to go outside and fire up the lawn mower.

Unbelievable, but until now I saw no one purchasing this box, which contains devastatingly beautiful performances. Bohm is not that often recorded,, and when Simone Stella, a hugely gifted musician, is putting all his knowledge into it, you get what I listen to now, a perfect marriage. The first two CD'S are dedicated to the Harpsichord, and CD 3 & 4 on Organ. I am listening to CD 3 played on a Francesco Zanin organ build in 2006, Padova. Words fail to describe beauty, the music says it all. It has me transported as no other musician does in this way. He gives you a sense of time, being enclosed for the duration of the CD, in the world that represents Bohm.
8 partitas an extensive series of variations in twelve parts, ( Ach wie nichtig, ach wie fluchtig) and ( Freu dich sehr, o, meine Seele, are stunning. Fine sound too. Recommended with some urgency.

Recommended without urgency .... but if one feels tempted .... Stef Tuinstra playing Böhm:

Fine.  Well then...the next time my home goes up in flames I will simply call your wife again and ask her to send me some replacement Rangstrom CD's instead.  Now where did I put these matches?

Yes.  It's just as well he had his earphones on when his wife was talking to him, as I'd suggested she tell him about what has been going on between us.   :P
