Wanderer

I've been listening to this wonderful set during the last couple of days.

Also, this:

(Danish National SO/Segerstam)

The new erato

A really excellent record that has given me lots of pleasure since it arrived 3 weeks ago (my 4th playthrough). But after this listen it will go to my alphabetical library from my "current listening" pile.

Post nr 1000. The disc is worth it.

And Minkowski doesn't even need a military band (a la Frederick Fennel) to pull it off!

(RE: Rebel/ Les Elémens) Minkowski does a really brilliant job here, couldn't have wished for more!  :)

To these ears Herve Niquet on Glossa tops Pinnock in the Fireworks, especially in that powerhouse of an Overture.  The Water Music, though, doesn't topple any of the old favourites.

That's hard to imagine, f.t. Pinnock's Overture is so explosive. I'll try to hear Niquet's. Thanks for the recommendation.

Better still send in the "Charmed Ones with the power of three......

;D :D ;D

We're halfway through season 6. Mrs. Rock is angry they vanquished Cole. She thinks he got a raw deal.

I'd guess you and I, Harry, and Mrs. Rock, are the only members here who enjoy Charmed.

Post nr 1000.

Congratulations, erato - you're now a veteran! I hope to be one in a month's time (I think).

Surely the complete set will resurface one of these days! :)

It has become my new "grail" in the classical repertoire Q.

That looks absolutely wonderful.

Since Warner/Teldec is currently reissuing the "Das Alte Werk" series, it suppose it's just a matter of time.
The new issues look like this:

And it sounds as good! Will post some comments and (a) sample(s) on the Italian Baroque thread shortly.  :)

Yes I guess so, we are in the 4th Volume now, and indeed my wife is also angry about the vanquishing of Cole. First Phoebe kisses Cole full on the mouth, that intensity, and then in a moment while Cole says he never will stop loving Phoebe, they vanquish the poor Source.
Yikes. He got a raw deal indeed.
