LOVE THIS! I like the second as well, but I was hooked after this one and now search out his recordings (there are not all that many).
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

I love this set!

Listening to the crazy rollercoaster that is Poulenc's Organ Concerto right now. Philharmonia - Charles Dutoit, Peter Hurford (organ).

That IS a great set and I have much love for it as well. Pretty much all the Poulenc one needs, besides the chamber works.

Since Saturday night, I've been replaying in my head the Rossini Overture to La gazza ladra (The Thieving Magpie), which Gustavo Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic used to open their concert.  You know it was a fun evening when that piece sticks with you!

What does that mean?

What I meant was that this piece is somewhat overplayed, and is easy to take for granted--which didn't happen at all.  They played it as if it were the last piece they would ever tackle.

How is this Szidon recording?  I don't think I've ever seen it.  I love his set of Scriabin sonatas, but didn't realize he'd ever recorded the Ives.

I have quite a number of CD's by Nikolayeva.  She was particularly well-known for her performance of Bach keyboard works ...

I have been looking for her WTC but everytime I see it the price is sky high.  :(
