Thats easy MP has the only two recordings with his orchestral works, and cheap too.

:) If you see any of the Marco Polo discs cheaply, they all sound much the same. I slightly prefer his 3rd symphony at the moment, with its slow movement evocation of Moscow's church bells.

I ordered the three discs with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8. Only €20 for the lot.

Me? If it's any consolation, I didn't understand it eiither. I've probably read too little.

I've discovered in the Chat thread that these are his attempts at vengeance humor.  ;D

Probably because I've read too many trashy books, I'm listening to one of those Handel collections where you get 99 tracks for five bucks.

Time to see if I can yet gain a handle on this beastly work.

The only Tishchenko work I've heard so far is a cello concerto which was re-scored by Shostakovich.  I should go back to it . . . .

They're very popular with the downloaders on Amazon and iTunes. Maybe folks are trying out classical who normally would not.

Tischenko's music repeatedly raises the same feelings in me: this would be much better if it was serial. Halfway through his pieces I end up wanting to listen to Searle, Wuorinen or something.

And it's great to be back.  My surgery went very well although last night was a tough one.  As I write, my lymph nodes are being examined in a lab.  Fortunately, they were removed from my right underarm, and I'm a lefty.  The pain pills I am taking make me a happy man, so you won't read any surly comments from me for a couple of days.

I won't know of a prognosis until I hear back from the medical experts.  On 23 December, I get all stitches removed.  Life is grand!!

Good to have you so nearly back, Don! Recover speedily!

Keep your "insights" in your pants, buddy. They're not very insightful.

Dave, let me say my view about you isn't yet crystallized. I'm investigating now.

I have two kinds of perceptions. The first I have explained already. You have developed into someone and can't turn things back. The only cure perhaps can be humour or writing a novel about your own life as I propose. But you don't want that, so you're lost and your jokes can be interpreted as symptomatic for your disorder.

The second perception is that you just are just ordinary depressed, which can be of course also a serious problem. But you probably will become healthy again. I don't dislike your jokes, but if it's all you have to offer, you and your jokes become dumb and I interpret them as symptoms of a depression.

Fortunately I think the second perception is more likely. I feel more comfortable with that, because I don't have to feel too much sorry for you.

You are so far into left field, I figure now's a good time to just ignore your ramblings. Have fun!

You avoid talking about it. Well, you started complaining, asking for some support, that's a reason why I write about this.
