Fauré - Requiem/Messe des pêcheurs

Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Louis/Paris Chapelle Royale Chorus - Philippe Herreweghe

Agnès Mellon, Peter Kooy, Pierre Boumard - Harmonia Mundi

For me, this is top of the pile as Faure Requiem's go.  Superlative textured playing, the best I have heard so far.

Beautiful, isn't it? I have it in a different issue, paired with Franck's Symphony in D.

Try the version on Naxos - very intimate.

Mark - just an aside - do you own anything other than Naxos recordings?   :)

Ha ha. Funny man. ::)

How many countless recordings on other labels do I have to post about before people realise that my non-Naxos CDs HEAVILY outweight the Naxos ones?

Not your fault - you've not been around here long enough to appreciate this. If you want to know who has MORE Naxos CDs, may I point you in Harry's direction? ;D

Yes, the Naxos version too is a winner, Summerly/Oxford Camerata perform the work beautifully.
Messe basse, Pièces de fantaisie, Suite No. 1, Tantum ergo all previously unheard fillers too!!

Nowt wrong with Naxos, is there  ;D
