There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

One of the first classical works I fell in love with - Dvořák's Cello Concerto (recorded 1985):

The cover looks a bit like Yoko Ono and the teacher from The Wall.  ;D

One of my greatest loves, too, Russell. :) In fact, I have 11 recordings of the concerto - but that's not one of them.

New. And I expect to be playing this a lot.

This one is a little different - it features Yoko Ono wailing the orchestral parts while the cellist accompanies his virtuoso work with screams of "YOU!  YES YOU BEHIND THE BIKESHEDS!  STAND STILL LADDY!!"

My favorite remains Fournier/Szell/Berlin, but I also have a great fondness for Jean-Guihen Queyras' recent recording on harmonia mundi. And yours sounds quite ... distinctive;D

Fëanor

Godfrey Ridout, (1918-1984): Cantiones Mysticae No.1; Victor Feldbrill / Toronto Symphony.
I quite enjoyed this piece.  Solid Post-Romanticism I'd say.
