Will you stop that?!
;D

(I like mmmmmmMoravec, and that one's missing in my library. "You are currently using 66% of 461GB storage space". Damn, there is space for more.)
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

Does sipping coffee add to the experience? Or does the slurping sound detract?

I like me some Dumky.

It's just a thing I've got going with 'MA Karl'  :D

I actually neither sip or slurp, I gulp my coffee down! Coffee and classical go together like bread and butter, of course!

Although Dave, I must warn you.  Drinking coffee while you are listening to music means you are not giving the music your full attention, so why bother?  ;D

That one is rather good, I think. The way I remember them I prefer it to Jochum (DG), so it must be.

After a couple of days spent mostly revisiting Brüggen's period performances of Beethoven symphonies, I'm launching into another voyage of rediscovery by breaking out Vernon Handley's fine set of Bax symphonies, starting with disc one, the seldom-heard first and the better-known third.  Does it seem a bit much to start the day by swooning to such neo-Romantic lushness?  Will the everyday world seem distressingly dull and colorless after surrendering my soul to Bax's unrepentant sensuousness?

Probably...but who gives a damn?!  ;) 8)

P.S.  Thanks, "Baxman" Bob, for encouraging this indulgence!

P.P.S.  I see Keemum's listening to one of my faves.  I have three HvK Bruckner 7ths, including the much lauded last WP recording, but this under-appreciated EMI issue has my heart, partly because it was the first Bruckner recording that really spoke to my soul.  I was spellbound on first hearing it.

I stopped listening to it and switched to something else, so I can't give an opinion on it.  :-\

Thos Jensen

I suppose this is Thomas Jensen (1898 - 1963). "Thos" looks a bit strange.
BTW I heard him conduct this very Nielsen Symphony when I was a child.
