If you are comparing final movements, you may wish to indulge in Yakov Kreizberg's recording on PentaTone - the absurd jumps from one tempo to another in the coda are laugh-out-loud funny (and the brass' triumphant declaration of the main theme sure sounds like bitter laughter, too)...  :)

Although The Hebrides is one of my favourite works composed by Felix, listening to it for the first time as an HIP I find it rushed.

Lou Harrison Piano Concerto
Bliss Color Symphony

I'm feeling the need to listen to a Handel oratorio or two, as I was digging through the Big Box o' Scores looking for my Brahms Requiem score (which I didn't find) and came across Samson, Joshua, and a number of other Handel works I haven't heard for a while.

Do you have Collard's Ravel solo works, Karl?   He is also outstanding when it comes to Fauré.  Please do your homework and post your thoughts on the Saint-Saëns.

No, not yet (but I ought), Bill.  On our Luke's excellent recommendation, I've got the two-fer of Collard & Béroff playing the Ravel & Debussy four-hands catalogue, though.
