What's with the 'typical' Indian attire in a Romanian album?

Glad to know you are recovering, Harry. :)

This recording, which needs no introduction for the Martinuphiles on this forum.

She is a Romanian singer specialized in Indian music and singing it too in a good way, she seems to be well known in India.

Belohlavek's Martinu 4th with the CzPO. After many years, I think I'm starting to prefer Turnovsky in this work.

How old is the Turnovsky recording, edward? This is a performance that I keep reading about, but was unsure of.

Late '60s.

Ah, cool. I see that you have it on Apex/Warner. I might pick this one up next, so you're enjoying it? What is it about his take on Symphony No. 4 that you enjoy over Belohlavek's? How would it compare with Neumann's reading of it?

I think what I really like in Turnovsky is the inner movements; the scherzo has a little bit more energy than Belohlavek's, and the slow movement has more of a sense of the long line and less tendency for tension to drop.

It probably depends on what mood I'm in. :-)
