Definitely powerful and vibrant, maybe my favourite performance of Nielsen No.4 along with the Karajan  :)
I certainly suggest you to have a listen to it  ;)

I've never listened to the Blomstedt, what is it like?

Dvorak on Dvorak piano

It is just unbelievable how interesting piano music can be if it is not played on Steinway.

I, too, can vouch for the Blomstedt set of the Nielsen symphonies. This was actually my first exposure to Nielsen's music and Blomstedt really has a commanding way with the music that impressed me to seek out more of his music and I still listen to Blomstedt's recordings today.

That sounds really amazing  :) Thank you, I will try to follow your suggestions and I will look for the Blomstedt set, I'm quite curious to listen to it!

Haydn: Piano Trios Nos. 1-5

Now playing Disc 1 and having a first listen to this newly arrived set - sounds great!. There is a lot of music here to get to know so this set will take me a while to get through I think :)

Chavez's Sinfonia India is just a feel good work. Is it one of the most profound musical statements ever put to paper? Absolutely not, but if somebody wants to listen to some good, clean fun, then this work is the way to go.

This is second hearing of this work and it is simply outstanding. Brian was so right in telling me I was going to love this. Pierne's greatest work? Quite possibly.

Is this different from the recording in the big Leonhardt box? (Probably my single most-played disc of harpsichord music)
