Florestan

Wilhelm Stenhammar

Serenade in F major op.31

Blomstedt / Gewandhausorchester Leipzig

"Beauty must appeal to the senses, must provide us with immediate enjoyment, must impress us or insinuate itself into us without any effort on our part." - Claude Debussy

Antoine Marchand

Op. 20

Via NML.

I think I won't purchase this 2 CD-set. Some weird ritardandi and a general slowness, do these lax performances a quite boring experience.

The name of la claveciniste is not the only thing that sounds French here. I thought I was listening to Couperin.  ;D

I didn't know Ives wrote "When the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pie, that's amore." I'll be damned.

I googled "quartet babes" and found this. Is it fetishistic enough?  ;D

Willoughby earl of Itacarius

One of my favourite composers, of which I buy as much as is recorded, and this one in particular ignites my fantasy in many ways. A unique voice, that has actually something new to say. The performances could not be bettered, as also the recording, both are superb.

King Lear, Symphonic Poem, opus 20.

Symphony No. 1, opus 23 in G major.
