Great! Thanks mc_ukneal and North Star for the responses!

The début recital disc which you already know duplicates the first CD of this box, but you may find it at a price point which you may find justifies the redundancy:

This box, and the Chamber box which Karlo suggested, were my first serious splashes into the Martha Argerich pool.

And not my last . . . .

I agree, that's a great deal. If the other 7 discs are as exhilarating as the debut recital, than it should be an easy decision.

A tragic, but beautiful work. Gorgeous playing from the CzPO. The conducting from Mackerras is, of course, outstanding.

Next:

Going to listen to A Summer's Tale.

This is in all respects a disc that I enjoy again and again. The music is good,, the performance excellent, and the sound top notch. Had it several times in my player now, and for the last time before I will move to a new house. The walls of my old home are literally drenched with classical music. It will not be possible to remove the vibrations for the new owners. At least that satisfaction I have. ;D
I wrote about this disc 15-12-2010 and 26-4-2012.

Good luck with the new abode. That is always exciting (though stressful too). Will you be getting more space? A better view? Will it be walking distance to the (last-standing) record store?!? :)

Yes it will be a lot of stress, it is already! And yes I get a lot more space, and can finally draw in all the CD'S I have elsewhere stored. Although its a huge amount :o And yes the view is much better, and the garden is trice the size it has now. The home is detached.
And no, alas, record stores in Holland is a rarity as elsewhere in the world. My ordering these days is solely on internet.

Sounds great. More space and a bigger garden sounds quite nice. I gather a detached house will be quieter?

Yes, that was one of the issues Neal, no contact noises any more of the neighbours. And I can play my music as loud as I want. ;D

Thanks Nav, I get the keys of the house the 25th of June, and then the renovation starts, to make the listening room sonic proof. ;D

A wonderful work, that marks out well Dvorak's genius. Its a top notch performance. See review 29-12-2010.
