I kept my vinyl because like our current board partners I hadn't listened to a lot of the collection more than once.   Now in retirement I have time to catch up.  While a lot is mainstream, there's a good number of Vox Boxes, and Supraphon also, with some avant-garde (for the time) as well.    It will all show up here as I work my way through the shelves (with digressions for new CD purchases)
---  Sweet memories of this will bite me forever    (subtitle in Prapanch - a Hindi(?) film that got its subtitles in Egypt)

thread duty: BBC Proms via the internet
Messiaen:  Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum (31 mins)
Mahler:    Symphony No. 6 in A minor (85 mins)
Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra   Chailly conducting

I see.  It will be a good number of years from now before I will have the same luxury like you - taking time to spin those vinyls.  My CD collection surpassed my vinyl about a year ago.  But I do have some 4000+ LP's plus many open-reels and cassettes.  Yes, I still have operating open-reel and cassette decks ...

I bought it in 6/2010. It's one of my recordings, both the playing and recording are absolutely gorgeous. The approach, HIP-inspired, but with modern instruments, works very well.

Couldn't decide which double billing of Choir concerto and Minnesang to take to work, so I grabbed them both. Two of my favorites works from Schnittke.

Some new arrivals for Sunday's listening:

Kraus, Joseph - Viola Concertos w/ David Aaron Carpenter & Tapiola Sinfonietta - recent discoveries and an excellent review in the September-October issue of the American Record Guide (attached).

Bach, JS - Harpsichord Concertos w/ various performers, including Davitt Moroney; played on 4 different restored period instruments dating from the late 16th century to ca. 1725 - believe recommended on the forum and also a review reprinted HERE - :)
