Good evening all  :)

Live on the BPO Digital Concert Hall :

BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER - MURRAY PERAHIA conducting.

Franz Schubert - Sonata for piano four hands in C major D 812 »Grand Duo« (orch. Joseph Joachim)

Quotethe Grand Duo composed by Schubert as a sonata for piano four hands, performed in an orchestrated version by the great violinist, composer and friend of Brahms, Joseph Joachim, who detected in Schubert's original a "veiled symphony". At this concert the Berliner Philharmoniker and Murray Perahia offer a rare opportunity to hear this beautiful work.

Ah, that's good stuff!
All his late RCO Bruckner is, really.

Speaking of Bruckner, just finished this, a few minutes ago. (Days of work, if it is to be believed!)

Had the privelege of visiting this guy today

[asin]B00A2PAMAG[/asin]
one of our leading advocates of classical music, a great piano player & a very funny writer as well. He celebrated his 90th birthday in November and while he's a fragile old man, the mind is still going strong. I loved it when he talked about Stravinsky and mentioned "that young lad Boulez".

Listening to the Debussy pieces now.. a clear, concise approach. Not much impressionism going on here but a riveting performance nonetheless.

Agreed, great piece, and a great set!

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach
