books on harmony and harmonic analysis - suggestion?

I would love to learn more about this subject, but don't really know where to start. I did some very basic work on Bach Fugues and figured basses back when I was doing my A levels (aged 17/18), but would like to deepen my understanding and skill at this subject. Are there any really good textbooks that take one through a course in this? I would love to get a teacher, but don't have the time to commit to that kind of regularity at the moment.

It's getting on a bit now but not OOP, I think, Harmony in Action by David Tunley. Note this is for 17-19th C tonal harmony and features a lot of figured bass but to it's credit it is very strong on the horizontal aspects of harmonic analysis. Also much cheaper to pick up that Aldwell or Kostka that can cost you a small fortune you might not want to spend.
