Could you do some sort of individual tuition?

A good idea. I'm unsure how I would find clientele.

Surely there must be some websites where people offer, and look for, all sort of jobs and services. Heck, there are several in Romania, I imagine there must be much more in the US. Good luck!

That's what I was thinking...particularly if he knows any of the faculty there.

Quote from: Karl Henning on August 30, 2024, 12:39:46 PMMy initial title for the Opus 192 was impossibly sentimental. I'm not averse to sentiment, but for this title, no. I decided that the best solution was to turn to Whitman, so the title is O singer, bashful and tender, I hear your notes. This afternoon, instead of sleeping after PT, I drew up a string fugato.
I tried writing another section of the piece, but the result was worthless. The advice from long ago resurfaces: something specific. I may or may not have something of a bead on it now.

Quote from: Karl Henning on August 31, 2024, 11:36:57 AMJust spent a frustrating hour trying to create a fresh CV. After rebuilding the document twice, I couldn't print it out because both sites proved a grift. I finally just created it from scratch.
I have still not heard about a follow-up interview, so they may just not be that into me. I've found a couple of alternates to which I've now applied with my spiffy new CV.

There were very good pluses but a couple of minuses which I reflect are considerable, so I'm not unhappy to think that their inaction spurred me to renew my search.

My experience with this project is unusual. I'm just rolling with it. After this post, I wrote some 21 measures of very light wind choir music. I wasn't dissatisfied with it, as I had been with the discarded sketch, but I wasn't sure just how I felt about it, either. I've left it to sit this while and I think I like it all right. And today I've composed out to 57 measures. I think that, again, I'm going to let it "cure" a bit. It's all rather spare still, and at present that's how I'm inclined to keep it.

Not a long-term employment prospect, but I've been selected for a research study for a new therapy for stroke survivors. Some twelve appointments and there will be a modest compensation. Even so, it will be a welcome addition to the month's budget.

What sort of things does the therapy involve (if I might ask)?
