Prior to my stroke I did consistently well at logging 10K steps per day, and indeed was closing in on my target weight. Since that event, for a couple of reasons, 10K steps does not appear quite practical, but this week I've made a better effort than usual to get out twice a day for a walk.
Monday:4585 steps
Tuesday: 6353 steps
Wednesday: 8413 steps
Tomorrow, we're expecting a rainy nor'easter, and Friday, of course is PT day, so my next walk is apt to be Saturday.

Tomorrow will be a good day to put the job search iron back in the fire.

Those step counts look good, a few miles then 👍.

Would something like a treadmill or a stationary bike be of help to you Karl?

And I admire your stick-to-it-tiveness!  You go Karl!

Well, I have refreshed my CV, if going further back in time is "refreshing." It now includes my Bank Teller experience (which was basically my first serious work after High School (IOW almost completely irrelevant to current bank tech, but what of that?) and my work as an English Teacher (to non-native speakers.)

The bank teller position has relevance to customer relations skills, which are well regarded by many employers.

Have you considered approaching school systems? Translators are needed by many systems, especially those with diverse communities. Where I worked before I retired, any written material that went home to the general student population families had to be translated into every language spoken by students in the community. I believe we had at least 10 different to deal with, and google translate was woefully inadequate for most.

Also, if you're physically up to it, substitute teachers are sorely needed and your background would make you very desirable. It's a short work day for temporary teachers and you can pick and choose the days you want to go in.

Great to read, Karl. Very encouraging signs, indeed. Also, good luck with your job search. I hope you find something that makes you happy and is rewarding to you in some way.

Appreciate it! Really just looking for a little part-time work to make up the income lost from the church position. If it's manageable and easy to get to, that's as much as I ask.

I've just been wrestling with a website, snd reached a point where I'm giving up. Combination of cookie-cutter and lack of clarity in design.

Ah, okay. Well, that should be relatively easy to find. @Szykneij's suggestion as a possible substitute teacher would be a good one as schools are in dire need of help these days. I knew someone who has only worked for two years as a teacher and she already has quit because the stress became unbearable for her. But, as a substitute, all you have to do is show up and give the class the assignments left from the teacher.

It is an excellent suggestion, agreed. It is just such a website which I have found frustrating this afternoon. well, Athens wasn't built in a day. I may bang my head against that wall again some on Monday, but I'm done for today.

Happily, the thought occurred to me, of calling the office of the School Superintendent. Spoke to a human, to whom I've sent my CV. So, we shall see,
