Concerning fictional places, Duckburg as created by Carl Barks for Scrooge McDuck and his nephew Donald Duck comes to mind!

Concerning The Great Ohio Desert, despite David Wallace's claims, rumor has it - especially in Columbus - that The Great Ohio Desert starts just north of Toledo's city limits!  ;D  😇

Nice. The Firesigns borrowed Duckburg.

Yes, a fun work!
I'm hoping Matt will find it compellingly so. Naturally, at present he is preoccupied with the 8 June concert.
Apropos of nothing, as I've revisited The Prisoner a couple of details have come more forcefully to my attention: neither "Do Not Forsake Me, O My Darling" nor "Living in Harmony" has the ritual, "Who are you?" "The new No. 2" scene. And although i's are typically not dotted in the type face used in the show, it is most unusually dotted in the title of "Once Upon a Time."

For those who do not know, Do Not Forsake Me, O My Darling is a song composed by Russian-American composer Dmitri Tiomkin for the Western movie High Noon. (q.v.)

The episode of The Prisoner with that song as its title, is, however, not a Western episode.

Living in Harmony is the episode, which does use a Western setting for its action!

And this episode was not broadcast in America until a decade later. The network was uncomfortable with the resonance of a man of conscience turning in his gun while American youth were protesting the war in Viet Nam.

I always had trouble with the middle eight of that one. It goes from a sorrowful lament to a bouncy "He made a vow while in state's prison vowed it would be my life or his'n" section that seems out of place moodwise.
