There's a fellow composer here in Boston with whom I've been "friends" for a looong time but A. whom I've never met and B. with whom I have (so to say) a significant mutual friend. He reached out this morning to express regret that he was unable to attend the King's Chapel concert, and a pretty substantial text exchange ensued. We shall get together over coffee in Boston Monday.
