The Missus is back from her radiation followup. Success! They're happy with her progress, and she's still healing.

A bit of temporal upheaval for the Henning Ensemble. Dan and his wife will be traveling to Europe, so I'm reorganizing the April King's Chapel concert for trio. Chris Forbes and Dennis Bathory-Kitsz are writing new pieces, which will need to be deferred until the autumn (as will my own Cape of Good Nope) but they're also game to help my reorg by writing trios. In between swaths of sleep last night my brain turned over ideas for a trio of my own: The Dance at Ruin's Edge.

I always visit the temple in the video and other temples whenever I go to Kyoto. To me, Karesansui gardens are like devoid of time and space. They are beyond beautiful/nonbeautiful dichotomy.

So.,here's the dish: with the three of us basically trying to feel better, it's some weeks since I've felt I had any steam for composing, and when I've reflected on that, I've found it mildly vexatious. Today, methought I would make a go at applying a little discipline (ma non troppo) I've made good progress on the Opus 209. One peculiarity is: m. 29 ff. feels like the genuine ending for the piece, so there will be creative insertion, but not today.
The forum software isn't allowing me to attach a score. Ah, well. Furthermore, audio.com is twitchy signing me in, so nothing to see/hear here, folks.
