Further on the subject - during my time in the NJ/Phila. area (1999-2001) I was able to meet:

Joe Barron (at a group lunch)

If there is a GMG members you'd love to meet, Joe would be one of the people I'd put on my list.

Then again, my list will probably be rather long.

I am in regular touch with Michel/Paul, we meet up for meals and I have been to see Matti and his family several times in Finland and he has been over to visit us.

I also have plans for meeing another member, but we will have to see how the holiday plans turn out.

Mike
DavidW: Yeah Mike doesn't get angry, he gets even.
I wasted time: and time wasted me.

I know my list is.

It didn't last long. During dinner when he started insulting certain composers and performers, it became so unpleasant that I walked out (leaving my share of the bill, of course).

Well, when I met with Larry, we agreed at the outset that Dittersdorf was taboo.  And the subsequent conversation was unfailingly pleasant.

I don't think I ever talked to Larry about Dittersdorf - must be why I only ever saw his sunny disposition to the fore  :P >:D

Yes, I remember talking to you. I did not realise this Anne is that Anne!

:)  It was a pleasure to talk to you.

I am wondering what the script would be like in the movie When Harry Meets Larry;D

It wouldn't be long, and would end in Harry's death.

Sarastro

If I could, I would love to meet some of the Opera forum posters who are very knowledgeable about opera and amazingly pleasant.

Philo, you have a very low opinion of my powers I see.
Believe a human has to be born yet, that is able to perform such a act.

Yeah, that is fun.  I haven't met anyone from this forum, but I've met some from other opera forums.  Six, I think, individually, plus when I was in Chicago two season ago for Dialogues des Carmélites and Così fan tutte, we had a restaurant get-together with about 20 folks, including spouses/partners and some Internet-phobic opera-lovers.  We're planning another one for November, when I go there to see Lulu.

Not at all. I just think that Larry wouldn't even allow you a word.

I'm sure both Harry and Larry would enjoy the occasion.

And so would their seconds, Barry and Gary.
