Hello

I have just discovered this forum and this is my first post - inevitably a query!

This marvellous DG disc of Kim Borg singing Sibelius (and other) songs suffers from the usual complaint - no texts or translations. Does anyone know of any internet resources/sites where they might possibly be found? In passing, it's very disappointing that this actually won a Gramophone award a couple of years ago. In an ideal world, lack of texts and translation should be an instant disqualification.

I bought the Finlandia Kim Borg Arias and Songs a few years before the DG edition of Sibelius - it also contains no texts of the 12 Sibelius songs included. But if you go to the invaluable rec.music.org:
http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/s/sibelius.html
you'll find the texts of a couple of hundred Sibelius settings.
If lack of texts were to instantly disqualify recordings, there would be a lot of disqualified recordings out there. They all rely on people finding stuff online nowadays.
The Violin's Obstinacy

It needs to return to this one note,
not a tune and not a key
but the sound of self it must depart from,
a journey lengthily to go
in a vein it knows will cripple it.
