No, I did not. Thank you for providing the link.

You are welcome.

Mark

Did you also know about Classics Online, which is the site that Naxos boss, Klaus Heymann, is behind?

Brian

Wow, no to both. :) Truth is, though, Naxos Direct is looking pricier than CDuniverse...

dtwilbanks

Thanks for the tip, Mark.

Brian, you're right.

CD Universe is my first stop for online shopping usually.

And for me also. CD Universe often has the best price and provide excellent service.

Agreed. I get cracked case replacements lickety-split.

I used CD Universe once, but because I'm in the UK, the shipping took forever. Would've been quicker to have walked the 25 miles to my nearest classical music store. ;D

Because Naxos is a budget label everybody should use "near" shops for low shipping costs. For an European it would be idiotic to buy Naxos CDs from US and vice versa. As a Finn I use Scandinavian webstore www.cdon.com or the local stores in Helsinki. That way I pay only 6-7 euros per disc.

Mark, you have 25 miles to the nearest music store? Where the hell do you live?  ???
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Kew gardens, in a close environment. For safety reasons! ;D

That's good to know. Do they replace the case, or the whole thing?

That's not always true for Americans - some Naxos Historical reissues are not available in the US, so sometimes Yanks have to buy from overseas.

I just ask for the case.

dtwilbanks

Of course if the store is not in your home country, you might try something else first.  ;D

True but I was talking about new recordings...

My mistake. I should've said that I live a good 25-minute drive away from the nearest (half-decent) classical CD stockists. So that's still about 20 miles from my home in a sleepy English village in the middle of nowhere. :)

Naxos also sells a bunch of other records, which ones are good? (record labels)
personally, i find Profil, Hanssler classic, to be very good, what else are there?

Mark

Naxos distributes stuff by BIS, which I've always found to be rather good.

yes, BIS is very good, they have a lot of recordings of less known composers.
