Anyone else watch it?

I used to really dislike F1, as it epitomised to me the blandness of motorsport, but in the past few seasons since Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Kubica, etc have shown up it has changed immesurably. The evening of the teams has helped a lot as well. The final race of the season was the tensest sporting event I have ever been witness to - I'll remember it forever as one of the most dramatic moments I've seen.

Thank you. I needed a place to vent.

I notice that both Hamilton and Timo Glock's Wikipedia pages have had to be protected due to abusive edits. How pathetic can people get?

Used to watch it long time ago. After Senna died they have become obsessed with safety and with added dominance of Schumacher it really became boring. Heard that last few seasons have been more interesting but haven't yet regained the habbit to watch.

Here are another few last laps with Brazilian commentry, this time bit older.

thanks for the videos Lethe, I watched the first before it was pulled, very funny if a little cruel to laugh at team Ferrari's pit celebrations before they were told of the actual winner. I couldn't find a video link at the time so listened to the end on BBC radio -- the guys were going nuts, what a way to wrap up the title. Honestly I thought Hamilton would mess up like last year -- it is something of a British sports mentality to mess up under pressure, I think.

Milos the last two seasons have been excellent, though I still don't watch more than the first two laps of a race  8)

It's a shame, as it was quite a good demonstration of the professionalism of the British commentators. When it seemed like Lewis was going to lose, they praisied Massa as he crossed the line, and later said he had been the best driver of the day. I can only imagine the kind of bile being spewed in the international press, if the attitude in the run-up is anything to go by. But I suppose that it is in part due to the adversity that Hamilton has faced that has made me choose to support him.

And if I remember correctly, the Brazilian commentators said something like "Buena/o" immediately after Hamilton overtook Glock. I don't know if they were referring to Hamilton's victory or the race in general.  :)
