Fate would not allow her to witness her grandsons moment of triumph.
Sad, very sad. But she surely is watching from heaven.

I'm now ready for Sean Hannity to accuse the Obama campaign of engineering her death at this time in order for Obama to receive the "sympathy" vote.
I put NOTHING past Hanitty the S.O.B.
"Good", is NOT good enough, when "better" is expected

What a shame. I hope she was aware of the likelihood of his success. Just another few days, but it was not to be. Must be a hard thing for Obama as she was very influential in his life.

I wasted time: and time wasted me.

A very sad irony. I somehow expected her to hang on until the results came in. But maybe she was confident that the results were already in. Obama did the right thing by seeing her once more before she died.

This is all a left wing attempt at pity.  How do we know he even had a mother!?

No, but truly it is very sad, and it would have been nice for her to see the complete success of her son.

Luckily John McCain's mother is still in good condition and can be in Washington when her son is sworn in.

What means "obligatory"?

Regardless if he wins the election, he's already succeeded.  She knows that.   It must be a very bittersweet moment for Obama though.  But if it hadnt been now, then the shame would have been that she wouldn't get to (potentially) see his Inaugural, etc.

What a wonderful thing to experience on your deathbed though.  Not just your grandson as the potential next President, but a historic seismic campaign as well.

p.s. there is nothing "obligatory" about making tasteless comments regarding the passing of anyone's family.
Hardly any of us expects life to be completely fair; but for Eric, it's personal.

It is a joke.  Iago's strawman becomes reality.

A joke in poor taste.  You know that.

So is Iago's use of Obama's mother's death for political purposes, don't you think?

She was an important person in his upbringing, but still, a grandmother is a grandmother.

Oh, like I didn't get it before.

So it's totally cool forsomeone to  make a reference to The Taming of the Shrew when a relative of yours passes?  This isn't a political concern, it's someone's personal life.

Now do you get it?

That joke/comment is beneath you.   That's the point.  I wouldn't even bother pointing that out to some other people in my life bc they're idiots through and through.  You're better than this cheap shit.

I noticed a quote from Hamlet, not Shrew.
