Offenbach may well have been a splendid fellow; but my initial thoughts on seeing that photograph were that not only would I not let him anywhere near young people or children, but I would also lock up the family pets whenever he visited.

I did open with a disclaimer; but as seemingly we make up our minds about people in the first seven seconds, I have to  plead guilty. In mitigation; that does look suspiciously like a dead pet around his neck.
