"Good", is NOT good enough, when "better" is expected

Cavett might not be the best person to complain about Palin's talking.  As I remember it, Cavett often stumbled and fumbled with his sentences when he was a late night talk host.

I'm amazed anyone tries or for that matter tried to make any excuses for her or defend her in any way. I could understand such excuses if she were ridiculed while trying to get a job in the little drive-through box at a fast food eatery which her beloved Joe Six Pack presumably funds daily and weekly, but there's no excuse possible while running for US VP. End of story.

Well, to be fair, in this comment, we didn't get six well-nigh-interminable anecdotes about Groucho Marx, Johnny Carson, and Norman Mailer.

You've got to take what you can get when you can get it.
