? I can search in a thread in the top-right of a screen ... ?
When, a few months before his death, Rachmaninov lamented that he no longer had the "strength and fire" to compose, friends reminded him of the Symphonic Dances, so charged with fire and strength. "Yes," he admitted. "I don't know how that happened. That was probably my last flicker."

It would be really helpful if it would actually work...  8)

You get nothing? Did you not risk the peril of Castle Anthrax?

It does work if you select the search "entire forum" but not "this topic", which would be so much more convenient since I mostly search for my own posts in the listening thread. A general search limited to my own posts doesn't work anymore as well....

Ah, yes - that's a bug. It pops one over to a member's screen. Blast!  :-\

Interesting...I just tried an experiment.  Depending upon how I search, I can either get results or not.

When trying to search within a specific thread (in this case the one devoted to S. Barber), if I typed in Knoxville using the search engine at the top right and tried to search within that thread, I had no results.  If, on the other hand, I tried the search using the big orange button on the left hand side (by the orange Home key), I was able to get results (I narrowed it down to searching in the composer area and also added Barber into the keyword search).

If I search for the string "baryton" in Haydn's Haus, it comes up with a page of results and tells me that there are a total of 16 pages. However, if I try to move from page 1 to page 2 of the results it tells me that no matches were found.

Had the same problem....  ::)

There's no way of searching a thread for a string using external search engines that I know of.  Maybe someone else has ideas about that.

I don't quite know what you mean by a string in a thread, but if I Google: Mandryka Rübsam GMG, I get a lot of relevant references to various threads where you - and others - discuss Rübsam.

The problem is to search for "Rubsam" in just the organ thread.

That' certainly a step in the right direction. But if I search

haydn's house thread baryton gmg

I get an invitation to search

haydn's house thread baryton gmg site:www.good-music-guide.com

and then I only get three hits in the Haydn's Haus thread. So not very satisfactory really if there are more than three pages mentioning "baryton".

If you search: baryton trios site:www.good-music-guide.com
I think you get a few more. But if there are more (I don't know if this is the case) it's of course unsatisfying.

I have "Latest posts of Drogulus" bookmarked on my browsers. I occasionally find it useful, and it goes all the way back to August, 2007.

Can anyone tell me why the images I post are displayed twice? Once in the text of the post then there's a horizontal line, the images are displayed a second time with their title size and a link. I'm not seeing this on others posts which contain images.

Another question is when I inadvertently clicked on my name I was taken to a screen which displays the email address I used when I signed up. Can everyone see my address, I'd rather not!

The images are posted twice because that's how the forum software works. If you attach an image and don't click "Insert", the image should only appear below the line. Many users, such as myself, use the add image button (above the text editing box, to the right of the YouTube button) to insert images by URL. This allows us to put images from Amazon or Discogs, etc. directly into our posts.

Your email address should not be visible to regular members. It is, however, visible to moderators.

I can't see it as a normal member.
