BWV 1080

An arrangement I made of Gieng heut' Morgen über's Feld from Lieder eines fahrenden Geselle, more familiar perhaps in its adaptation by Mahler for the opening movement of his First Symphony

Nice to hear someone attempt this. Your tone sounds nice and full. What tuning are you using?

Thanks, just drop D, problem w Mahler is he starts in D maj but ends in F# after moving through B, so it quickly becomes a barre-fest

Nice job. I liked the arrangement.

Nice. Your arrangement sounds more contrapuntal than the Mahler orchestration. I would try to build more rich chords at the expense of dropping some of the counter-melodies. Also you could be more expressive that way. That D to F# modulation is a problem. I wonder if it's possible to tune E6 to F# from the start (it IS a chord tone in D) since pedal point is at the essence of this work. Nice job!

Nice big well recorded tone ! have you put the score anywhere ? p.s the harmonics at the start seem a bit de trop?
