The Éditions du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles have just published a new score to discover the firsts works for soloist keyboard in France in the 18th century. Johann Schobert composed this harpsichord concerto in France around 1765. Written in the tradition of the genre created by J.-S. Bach, it is definitively oriented in classical aesthetic. This talented musician, harpsichorder and composer from Germany, is one of the first to publish keyboard concerto in France. His brilliant career, suddenly stopped by his premature death, allow him to try something new, such as instrumental music with keyboard. The young Mozart, who appreciated the music of Schobert, used some themes from his work.
Today, this particularly brilliant harpsichord concerto, which should be played on a pianoforte, is devoted to accomplished musicians that can, beyond the velocity, set off the expressive style which characterize the period. It is newly published by the Éditions du Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles in the "Orchestre" series.
