Quote from: DavidW on Today at 06:01:33 AMWell, summer break beckons, I'm way too young to retire.

No way I am asking that question  ;D

I won't be retiring until the 2040's, sadly. If I last that long!

The Dante Symphony No. 1 was recorded with too much people's noise, whereas the No. 2 wasn't and it is quite interesting and dramatic.

Composer Discussion / Re: Mahler Mania, Rebooted
Last post by brewski - Today at 11:57:49 AM
NPO Klassiek has posted the Mahler concerts here. Video versions appear to be restricted by region, but the audio-only options are available to anyone.

Hoping that the performances — as Herman suggested — eventually all end up on YouTube, or another platform.

Quote from: Roasted Swan on May 15, 2025, 10:36:08 AMYou didn't ask but......!

No 1 (Arnold)
No 2 (Groves)
No 3 (Penny)
No 4 (BBC Music Mag - Lockhart/BBC CO Definitely NOT Lyrita - Arnold!!)
No 5 (Arnold-CBSO)
No 6 (Hickox)
No 7 (Yates-RSNO)
No 8 (Penny)
No 9 (Penny)
Nice choices. The problem with Arnold's generally excellent recording of his 5th Symphony (EMI) is that the sound suddenly becomes repressed in the catchy third movement. It spoils it for me.

I'm so sorry to hear that.  The little bit that I know about you, I'm sure that you tried your very best and did your best to make it work out.  It's hard when pets die and you're struggling with the balance between grieving and really wanting a new pet and to be a good owner to them.  💔

You'll find a new pal at the right time and you'll be a great pet owner/daddy--again.
