I know about the Bax and the Arnold slim boxes (in fact I just ordered them). But does anyone know what are the other slim sets they've released? As in anything where they didn't just slap a cardboard case around a bunch of jewel cases.

If I read
@vandermolen aright, the
Lyatoshynkskyy symphonies box.
Petrenko's DSCH. The complete LvB edition.

I can't find my copy at the moment, but I don't remember it being slimline, and the Amazon image seems to confirm that

The VillaLobos, Tanayev, and Prokofiev symphony sets are not slimline.
OTOH, the new Alfven Symphonies set is slimline, as are these three:

Thanks for the correction. I do wish they had "gone slim" already with the
Villa-Lobos and
Prokofiev. But it's an imperfect world.
The "Brazil em Concerto" box, a sampler of highlights from their Brazilian Classics series, is a gorgeous slimline set. Numbered limited edition though.

They put in a very, thick booklet, so the box is thicker than it needs to be, but no jewel cases.

V-L, Barber and Penderecki slim sets would be immediate purchases for me. The Prokofiev... I sadly already have them individually, excepting Romeo and Juliet.

No, it has a much sturdier box than many earlier Naxos sets in their flimsy boxes, but contains the original (Naxos) CDs in their jewel case. I should have made this clearer:

Nice! I purchased all of them individually as they were being released.
Not sure if this set has been mentioned. I have them all individually already, but it looks like it is available now in a Naxos slim box.

I had no idea that Brahms so much music for two pianos! :o
It's mostly 1 piano 4 hand transcriptions, of course, but many were done by Brahms himself and almost? all approved by him. I have met Chr. Köhn a few times and also heard him and Matthies play once (the Mozart 2 piano). If one is interested in that stuff, it's a very good set (I have not heard all of them, though).

The "Haydn" Variations were originally for piano duo or 4 hands, weren't they?
The Haydn-Variations and the f minor sonata (alternative version of the quintet op.34) are genuine two piano works.
Hungarian dances, maybe one version of the waltzes op.39 and maybe Liebesliederwalzer (alternative to vocal) might also be "original" 4 hand. But the bulk of the box is all symphonies, most of the larger ensemble chamber music etc. in arrangements for 4 hands.

Thanks, I was pretty much thinking that the Brilliant
Brahms box has me covered.
Anyone know if the John Field box is slim or jewel cases?

It's hard to tell from the images. Does Naxos have a "slim boxes' separate listing on their site? The recordings are by Benjamin Frith and well worth getting. I have the complete Nocturnes

6 jewel cases.
