This is the board to come to to try to identify that elusive piece of music that you can't get out of your head. Rest assured that if your music is classical, and you describe it well enough, our members will be sure to identify it.

To make a post on this board, simply go to the Name That Tune index page (http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/board,11.0.html), and click on the "NEW TOPIC" button at top right and fill in the details.

Some pointers:

• Not all music that sounds classical is. A lot of film scores are played by orchestras, but because they are not classical works, we may not be able to identify it for you.
  
• You are welcome to post a link to the music if you have a URL or website where it is featured.
  
• If you are describing the music in words, please tell us as much as you can about the music. Let us know how long it is, what instruments are playing, whether there is is a choir or vocal soloists, the speed, loudness and tone of the piece etc. The more information you provide, the more likely we will be to identify it for you.
  
• We may provide our answers in the way of midi files for you to check. Please check back frequently to see if our guesses are the one you are looking for.
  
• Feel free to post a "thank you" if we have identified it for you.

Note that midi files are computer synthesised version of the music, not orchestral recordings or MP3 files. The quality you hear depends on your computer and components, but will be far less quality than the actual music recordings. They are put here simply to help you identify your music.
