Title: Rachmaninoff's Rehoboth
Post by: snyprrr on September 20, 2010, 09:32:35 AM
All of a sudden I feel like I cornered the silver market! Somehow I feel as though I'm going to be let down. Otherwise, I'm looking for Thread Names!

Rachmaninoff's Roika?

Anyhow, piano wise I apparently have worked my way around to hearing the Etudes Tableaux again (Opp. 33/39), and was looking for a recording. The Richter/Olympia disc seems to get the best reviews, but I noticed John Lill on Nimbus being verrry cheap (I'm Scottish!).

He had very large hands, no? His piano music seems very very "large" and symphonic in places. Is this like Paganini for piano?

Please please me!

How does a lot of Rachy differ from a lot of Myaskovsky? The more Rachy i hear, the more it seems to beg the question.
