One published work.  Two different pianists as part of mixed recitals on two different discs.

I didn't know that, really. It's a Clair de lune, I think? Heard about it, never heard it.

Yes.  It's a really rather excellent work.  I think there are seven commercial recordings out there.  More pianists really ought to take it up.

Of course it is! I was thinking more in terms of boxsets labelled as such.

FWIW, of my Top Five composers, I have the "complete" works of Mozart, Chopin and Rachmaninoff plus the "almost" complete works of Schubert and Tchaikovsky.

And now that I think of it, I also have the complete Naxos Edition(s) of Johann Strauss, Sr., Johann Strauss, Jr. and Josef Strauss.  8)

Who?
Antônio Carlos Gomes (1836-1896), the "Brazilian Verdi". I have all his operas that have been recorded (7 of the 8 he composed), plus some religious music and songs. Most on obscure Brazilian labels (all long OOP).

His greatest hit was Il Guarany (recorded even by Sony with Plácido Domingo in the title rôle). My favourite is his last work, Lo Schiavo.

Yet, I'm baffled: you don't have the complete operas of Verdi, yet you have all operas of "the Brazilian Verdi".  :o

The ones marked "combined labels" are not complete sets, just single issues that add up to the "whole thing" (sorry, in my post I marked Falla and Halffter as "combined sets" rather than "labels", which may have been misleading—now corrected).

Even with my favorite composers I don't feel the need to hold onto everything.  There are somethings that I rarely play, so I might as well just stream them when I get the urge.

In the past owning the cd was the only way you could guarantee that you could listen to the work when you wanted to.  It made sense.

Inevitably though I will probably end up with all recorded Robert Simpson.  Can't stream that.  I have all his symphonies but he also wrote a great deal of some pretty good chamber music.

I have two complete Bach sets, but possibly I have recordings of several other composers' complete surviving works - especially of those where only a small number of works has been preserved, but I rarely strive for that kind of completeness, so I do not know for sure.

Since I've been streaming music my big box purchases has dwindled to almost none.  I bought the Stravinsky long brick way back, as well as the Boulez complete Webern, and recently the Boulez complete works.  But I never bought any of those complete editions of the big names: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.   Most of the ones I'm interested in are available to stream, e.g. Debussy and Ravel

Also a Spotify classical music editor has curated complete chronological playlists of many composers.

Stravinsky (if that Sony boxset is it)
Vaughan Williams (EMI Edition)
Tallis (Brilliant)

Wagner (Solti - did Wagner did anything beyond operas? Not that I have really listened to them yet anyway :-[ )

I think that's it.

Brahms - Brilliant
Chopin - Hyperion/Ohlsson
Rachmaninov - Brilliant
Ravel - Warner

That is all but I am probably close on Fauré and Dukas.

There is at least one very early and very immature symphony, and I think maybe a concert overture with no opera attached. Find the symphony here if you are worried about missing out ( ;D ) https://www.naxos.com/catalogue/item.asp?item_code=8.573413

Edit: similar story with Richard Strauss, two very very early symphonies, and I believe one of them (the minor key one) has only ever been recorded twice, one on Koch and one on Marco Polo, so collecting the complete R. Strauss would be very challenging.

According to Idagio under Wagner's works (maybe I should have gone there before asking the question  0:) ), there are also a few songs, a polka, some polonaises...  :o

Indeed, plus the Siegfried-Idyll, a symphony and a half, some songs (other than the Wesendonck), several concert overtures, the Kinderkathezismus, and choral stuff (including the strange Das Liebesmahl der Apostel). Then there's his arrangement of Gluck's Iphigénie auf Aulis (like that, auf Deutsch  ;) ), and really off the beaten track, his arrangements for two violins of themes from Donizetti's La Favorite.

I think I have it all...what I haven't been able to locate is the aria he wrote to interpolate in Bellini's Norma...  The quest continues...:( ::) ;D

Mahler
Stravinsky (if that Sony boxset is it)
Vaughan Williams (EMI Edition)
Tallis (Brilliant)
Victoria ? (complete Sacred works, it that it ?)
Wagner (Solti - did Wagner did anything beyond operas? Not that I have really listened to them yet anyway :-[ )

I think that's it.

I hope you add the complete Debussy and Ravel to this list soon.

Saved for streaming  ;D

According to Idagio under Wagner's works (maybe I should have gone there before asking the question  0:) ), there are also a few songs, a polka, some polonaises...  :o
A Wagner polka?!?! That could pair ideally with Peter Schickele's "Last Tango in Bayreuth," a tango arrangement of all of his operas into one short work...for four bassoons!

You don't own all of Stravinsky's, Schoenberg's or Berg's oeuvre?
I have a reasonably comprehensive overview of Stravinsky and Schoenberg, but certainly not complete in either case. Berg I don't have very much of at all, I admire the Violin Concerto and the Chamber Concerto greatly but I've never been especially fond of his music.

What an interesting thought, and you are very likely right. If there is one benefit to the digital age, it is the explosion of recorded repertoire, including composers and works that didn't get much attention previously.

It could have taken place, and you could own the complete works by some composers, including Mozart (Philips) and Beethoven (DG), Brahms (DG), Bartok (Hungaroton), Prokofiev (Melodiya, if they finished the project), Chopin (Muza), Szymanowski (?; Muza), Eisler (Eterna), Rachmaninoff (various labels), Schumann (various labels) and - just about - Stravinsky (CBS), Schubert (various labels),  Bach (various labels),  Ruggles' (CBS), Griffes (various labels), Scriabin (various labels), but the number of composers would overall be significantly smaller.

Speaking of that, I forgot that I have Louis Ferdinand of Preussen's complete works - it's a German LP box:

Haydn, except insofar as there are a couple of dances that have never been recorded. Not MY fault, I would have them.
Mozart
Beethoven
Schubert - there again, there are a few3 works that have never been recorded, possibly not even ever played! :o

There are several composers who I have a great pisspot full of their music. Or all their chamber music. This is because that is the way I tend to collect music, I find a composer I like and get every work he composed, if at all possible. :)

What are the Haydn & Schubert lacunæ? Are free scores available? Not the same, of course, but one might realize them via MIDI.

I don't know about Haydn, but for Schubert there are sets with complete Lieder, complete piano music both solo and four hands / duet, complete symphonies, complete orchestral music, complete string quartets, complete piano trios, complete works for violin and piano, possibly complete chamber music other than SQs and PTs, complete masses, complete choral works. I'm pretty sure only very few of his operas were recorded, though.

None I think.

For Mahler it depends if we count Die Drei Pintos.

For Scriabin I have all of the opuses, but not early works without opus number.

Some others come fairly close but I know there are things missing (even from what's been recorded).

What I find interesting is that there is no complete Vivaldi.

Daniel Smith has recorded all of the Vivaldi bassoon concerti but these are very uneven performances'

To my knowledge there are no good recordings of the following Vivaldi bassoon concertos:

Concerto in C major/RV478
Concerto in E minor/RV484
Concerto in F major/RV489
Concerto in C Major/RV479
Concerto in G major/RV492
Concerto in F major/RV490

The Hungarian bassoonist Tamás Benkócs started to but never completed.

Daniel Smith is a great jazz bassoonist.  I have some of his jazz albums.  Check out:

In order to play jazz he uses a reed that has an edge to it.  This is good when he is playing Charlie Parker but it is too harsh for Vivaldi.

Again if one knows of a bassoonist who disagrees with me, speak up.

I first thought: None!
But thinking a bit and looking on my shelves, it seems that I do have reasonably complete

- Corelli (Brilliant box)
- Chopin (DG box)
- Mahler (I am missing Blumine and the Weber completion but have two recordings of the piano
- Berg

pretty close (I am missing a few pieces, not only totally obscure ones but I am too lazy to check the details and don't really care to close the small gaps) l must be with

- Ockeghem (Gaudeamus box, not sure how complete it is)
- Beethoven (I lack e.g. Der glorreiche Augenblick but I have the two early cantatas and all Irish/Scottish etc. songs)
- Brahms (maybe a few lieder but I must have most of them, not aware of any other major lacunae)
- Bruckner (none of the early piano stuff and also missing a few lesser known choral pieces)
- Webern (not sure)

With JS Bach I still lack a quarter or more of the cantatas; I think I have all or most of the rest. This is the only gap I expect to eventually close. Also Schubert's lieder (I am not going for all of his operas and early church pieces, though). Schumann also must be very small gaps (choral, incidental, lieder, it cannot be much). The same with Stravinsky, I guess.

Checking quickly, the Gaudeamus Ockeghem seems to have only two secular chansons.
The Hyperion Schumann lieder set is a good way to get that segment of his work.
They're probably OOP, but EMI had nice sets of the complete choral works for both Schumann and Schubert.
Title: Re: Which Composer(s) Do You Have the Complete Works of?

Yes, I didn't get that Ockeghem box with complete works in mind, just was not sure as it is not clear from the cover and there are some older composers with rather few extant works. (Like Bruhns; but I have only single works of his on anthologies.)
I have too many Schumann (and Schubert and Brahms) Lieder to get complete boxes, this would be too many doublings. I have the supposedly complete choral (without orchestra) works by Brahms on Brilliant and I am not sufficiently into a cappella (or choir + piano) to get the same for Schumann, Schubert, Mendelssohn, but I have anthologies with some of this repertoire.

As I wrote, my first reaction was that I don't have any oeuvre complete; I was a bit surprised to have 4 composers basically complete as I usually don't go for these boxes/editions nowadays but both the Corelli and the Chopin I got 10 or more years ago and they were both only moderately large and very cheap.

I own very few complete works of any composers. Partly because the composers, whom I am interested in, as a rule haven't got their complete works recorded, partly because the so called complete composer releases rarely are complete in a strict sense.

Britten. Thanks to the Decca 2013 centenary box, plus numerous additions accumulated since 1982.
Vaughan Williams (as far as anyone can)
Bach, judging by BWV numbers
Mozart, judging by Koechels.
Vivaldi, if I go by current RV numbers.
Wagner.
Verdi.

Mostly, I despise collecting composers by completion. But I get the attraction. I try hard not to be a completionist!

That Britten Decca box set is one of the many gems of my collection. Such a tremendous set and remarkable presentation. I'd say anyone who is a Britten fan and missed this box set, should do their damnedest to track it down and buy it. I have to hand it to Decca in this instance --- they pulled out all the stops.

Agree re: the Decca box, but I see it now sells for ridiculous amounts of money, assuming you can ever see it listed for sale anywhere. I think they broke it out into sub-collections after 2013, so you can get the 'complete operas' and so on, but not the 'complete works' any more, which is a shame. You have to strike whilst the iron's hot these days, lest the dreaded 'out of print' hammer fall!

To the bold text, you certainly are right about that! I've made this mistake far too many times.
